Lady Bears rip Enterprise

West Lincoln pitcher Heather Huff held Enterprise to two hitsThursday as the host Lady Bears posted a 9-1 Division 7-1A win overthe Lady Yellow Jackets in fastpitch softball action. Huff fannedfive batters and allowed no walks.

“Heather huff did a good job pitching,” said West Lincoln girlscoach Andrew Redd. “We made some good defensive plays and I wasglad to see we were hitting the ball better and our running wasgood as well. My starters from basketball did a good job justhaving two practice days.”

Alicia Kennedy powered the Lady Bears (1-1, 1-0) with a tripleand a single. Cerrie Farver tripled. Huff singled twice.

The losing pitcher was Kayla Owen with two strikeouts and eightwalks. Lacey O’Quinn fanned one and walked two in the finalinning.

Melane Rutland drilled a home run for Enterprise (4-2, 1-2).Kaylin Burke singled.

West Lincoln led 3-0 after the first inning. Enterprise scoredone run in the top of the second to cut the deficit to 3-1. TheLady Bears added one run in the fourth, two in the fifth and threein the sixth to secure the win.

Junior Varsity

West Lincoln crushed Enterprise 6-0. Tess Wallace, Kelsey Bass,Alana Cupit and Keri Easley singled to the Lady bears.

Smith was the winning pitcher with 10 strikeouts and one walk.Absorbing the loss was Melane Rutland and Lacey O’Quinn with sixstrikeouts and five walks.

West Lincoln hosts Salem, today for a varsity game only. Gametime starts 4 p.m.
