Services for Alice W. Laird, of McComb, are 3 p.m. today, March15 at Calvary Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.Hartman Funeral Home of McComb is in charge of arrangements. TheRev. Chad Carney and the Rev. David Luce will officiate.
Visitation is today from 1-3 p.m. at the church.
Mrs. Laird, 91, died March 13, 2005, at McComb Extended Care.She was born in Amite County on Aug. 2, 1913, to June Williams andSally Terry Williams.
She attended school at Mari Hill and Southwest College. Later inlife, she went to nursing school at Baptist Hospital in Jackson.She was a retired licensed practical nurse, where she worked forthe McComb City Hospital and Southwest Mississippi Regional MedicalCenter. Mrs. Laird was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Churchwhere she and other charter members started the W.M.U.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, OttisLaird; four brothers, Frank, Obed, Oliver and Earl Laird; and threesisters, Hazel, Lillian and Clara.
Survivors are her son, James Elliott and his wife, Joy WellsLaird, of Smithdale; two grandchildren, Greg Laird and his wife,Suzanne, of Jackson, and Gina Laird Alford and her husband, Gary,of Smithdale; two great-grandchildren, Megan Laird and Will Laird;and two stepgrandchildren, Anna Alford and Tara Alford.
