Margaret Johnson Burkes

Services for Margaret Johnson Burkes, of Meadville, are 1 p.m.Saturday, April 2, at New Fork U.M. Church with burial in MeadvilleCemetery.

Visitation is Friday from noon until 5 p.m. at Marshall FuneralHome Chapel in Bude.

Mrs. Burkes, 75, died March 26, 2005, at Franklin MemorialHospital. She was born in Franklin County on Sept. 10, 1929, toWilliam “Bill” Johnson and Lula Brown Johnson.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of New Fork UnitedMethodist Church where she served of the board of trustees.

Preceding her in death were her parents; one son, CharlesBurkes; one daughter, Linda Teresa Burkes; four brothers, AlbertWeathersby Sr., Hollis Johnson, Henry “K.C” Byrd and Joe Hines; andone sister, Ester Mae Bayliss.

Survivors are her husband, Albert James Burkes, of Houston,Texas; two sons, Jerry Burkes of Akron, Ohio, and Craig AnthonyBurkes of Meadville; four daughters, Betty O’Neal and PatriciaBurkes, both of Houston, Texas, Brenda Cager of Brookhaven andLouise Williams of Brenham, Texas; one sister, Ernestine Andersonof Laurel; two sister-in-laws; 10 grandchildren; twogreat-grandchildren; three goddaughters; and a host of nieces,nephews, cousins and friends.

Lula Mae Coleman

Services for Lula Mae Coleman, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.Saturday, April 2, at St. Luke M.B. Church with burial in the NewHope Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from noon until 7 p.m., with the familypresent from 6-7 p.m. at R.E. Tyler Funeral Home.

Mrs. Coleman, 91, died March 28, 2005, at her residence. She wasborn in Brookhaven on June 11, 1913, to Robert Johnson and LulaWalker Johnson.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Luke M.B. Church,where she served on the Mother Board, Usher Board and theMissionary Society.

Preceding her in death were her husband, J.C. Coleman; herparents; brothers, Shady Johnson, Horace Johnson, Henry Johnson,Curtis Johnson and Willie “Gus” Johnson; and sisters MaebellJohnson and Leola Perkins.

Survivors are three sons, Jackie Coleman, Harry Lee Coleman andRobert Lee Coleman, all of Brookhaven; two daughters, Glossie MaeEarl and Leola Coleman Smith, both of Brookhaven; 18 grandchildren;27 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Josephine Brown Galloway

Services for Josephine Brown Galloway, of Birmingham, Ala.,formerly of Brookhaven, are 1 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at BogueChitto Church of Christ with burial in Bogue Chitto Cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from noon until 8 p.m., with family hourfrom 7-8 p.m. at Williams Mortuary.

Mrs. Galloway, 71, died March 29, 2005, in Birmingham. She wasborn on July 23, 1933, to David Brown and Mary Toliver Brown.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Eansley Church ofChrist in Eansley, Ala.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, ArthurGalloway Sr.; a son, Luther Galloway; her brothers, Lewis Brown,Houriah Brown and Roscoe Brown; and her sister, Elizabeth Dillon,Stella White and Alberta Robinson.

Survivors are her two daughters, Doris Galloway of Garland,Texas, and Gwen Smith and her husband Elder Lawrence Smith ofBrookhaven; six sons, Arthur Galloway, and his wife, Glenda, ofMulga, Ala., Kenneth Galloway and his wife, Percilla, of Dallas,Herbert Galloway and his wife, Delores, of Dallas, Steve Gallowayof Garland, Robert Galloway of Milwaukee, Wisc., and NormanGalloway of Indianapolis, Ind.; one brother, Ellis Brown of SanFrancisco; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a host ofother relatives and friends.

Ada Lee Middleton

Services for Ada Lee Middleton, of Roxie, are 11 a.m. Saturday,April 2, at Mt. Olive M.B. Church in Kirby, Miss., with burial inBaldwin Cemetery.

Visititation is Friday from noon until 6 p.m. at R.E. TylerFuneral Home and Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at thechurch.

Mrs. Middleton, 71, died March 25, 2005, at Franklin CountyHospital. She was born Feb. 9, 1934, to Leonard Jordan Dorsey andViola Newton Dorsey.

She was a former cafeteria worker at Franklin County High Schooland also worked with the Headstart program in Franklin County. Shewas a member of Mt. Olive M.B. Church in Kirby.

Preceding her in death were her parents; daughter Ella MaaeChaney and brothers L.J. Harris, Ben Dorsey, Virgil Lee Dorsey,Nolan Booker and Daniel Washington.

Survivors are her husband Leodis Middleton; three sons, LeonardDorsey of Abilene, Texas, Donald Middleton of Bolton, and Aldie JayMiddleton of Hattiesburg; three daughters, Cleo Smith, Dianne Tylerand Charisma Middleton, all of Roxie; 12 grandchildren; 16 greatgrandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Julisha Nicole Wilson

Graveside services for Julisha Nicole Wilson, of Brookhaven, are3 p.m. Friday, April 1, at St. John Cemetery. Williams Mortuary isin charge of arrangements.

The infant was stillborn on March 28, 2005 at the University ofMississippi Medical Center.

Preceding her in death was her paternal grandfather, SamHughes.

Survivors are her parents, Jessie Wilson and Joyce Allen; hersister, Jessica Wilson of Wesson; her brother, Jadarrain Allen ofBrookahven; her maternal grandparents, Precious Allen of Wesson andEdward Smith of Brookhaven; her paternal grandmother, VirginiaWilson of Brookhaven; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins andother relatives.
