Services for Owen Marion Smith, of Wesson, are 11 a.m. Saturday,April 2 at Rocky Hill Baptist Church with burial in the churchcemetery. Community Funeral Services is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. and Saturday, from 9-11 a.m.at the church.

Mr. Smith, 72, died March 30, 2005, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born in Copiah County on Sept. 18, 1932, to MarionSmith and Cora Channel Smith.

He was a retired self-employed farmer.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Mattie M. Smith; his daughters, RuthCalcote and Carol Fortenberry, both of Brookhaven, and RebeccaSmith, of Deltona, Fla.; his son, Marion Quitman Smith, of Wesson;his sisters, Minnie Clark, Mary Shelton and Mattie Sue King, all ofHazlehurst; his brothers, Leon Smith, Ernest Smith and ReginaldSmith, all of Hazlehurst, Willie Fred Smith, of Wesson, and RussellSmith, of Crystal Springs; eight grandchildren; and fourgreat-grandchildren.
