In going with the mayor’s recent proclamation of April 16-30 asthe Great American Clean Up in Brookhaven, I think it is anopportune time to think about a pet proclamation.

Many large dogs are roaming the areas and venting their urgentdesires on other people’s lawns. This, of course, does not help thecleanup program.

It seems that if a pet owner controls his dog by using a leash,a small scooper and an old plastic bag, it could most certainlyhelp this important program. Some of us are now using this veryeffortless way of controlling local lawn desecration.

In recognizing the local leash law and the enforcement thereof,this could certainly help the cleanup program. Let’s all worktogether in cleaning up Brookhaven.
