NATCHEZ — The Brookhaven Academy Cougar golf team capturedsecond place with a 332 Tuesday in the District 4 AA Tournament atBeau Pre’ Country Club. The course is par 72.

Prairie View captured first place with 327, five strokes aheadof the Cougars. Following BA were Columbia 335, Natchez Trinity341, Central Hinds 357, Riverfield 365, Adams County ChristianSchool 367, Copiah 372 and Silliman, La., 423.

BA will host the 8-team State AA Tournament next Monday, April18, at the Brookhaven Country Club. Joining BA from the South arePrairie View, Columbia and Trinity. Representing the North areClarksdale Lee, Winston, Leake and North Delta.

Cole Johnson of Prairie View shot 78 for match medalist honors.BA’s Jonathan White shared second place with three other players at79.

Other scorers for BA included Will Hodges 84, Garrett Johnson 84and Hunter Wilson 85.

“i think we have had a great year,” said BA golf coach BarryGray. “We have a good shot at winning state.”

The tournament tees off Monday morning at 9 a.m.
