Mr. Bessonette, 70, died March 29, 2005, at V.A. Hospital inJackson. He was born in Lincoln County on Feb. 22, 1935, toClarence Dewitt Bessonette and Addie Morgan Bessonette.

He was retired from Deviney Construction Company. he was aveteran of the Air Force, where he was a mechanic. He was a memberof Union Hall Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and his brother, JamesRonald Bessonette.

Survivors are his daughter and son-in-law, Melissa B. andCharles “Coonie” Jordan of Brookhaven; his sons anddaughters-in-law, F. Mitchell and Angie Bessonette, and Michael R.and Linda Bessonette, all of Brookhaven; his sister, Margaret B.Rushing of Brookhaven; and his grandchildren, Kelly Bessonette,Kayla Bessonette, Justin Bessonette, Cody Jordan, and MarandaJordan.

Memorials may be made to Union Hall Baptist Church.

Services for Willie Ann Diggs of Brookhaven are 11 a.m.,Tuesday, May 3, at St. James Missionary Baptist Chuch with burialin Carver Heights.

Visitation is Monday from noon until 5 p.m., at Tyler FuneralHome.

Mrs. Diggs, 97, died March 28, 2005, at Haven Hall Health CareCenter in Brookhaven. She was born in Franklin County on Nov. 3,1907, to Steve Kennedy and Louise Webb.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. James MissionaryBaptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, JohnnieDiggs Sr.; a son, Johnnie Jr.; and her sisters, Callie Robinson andCarrie Gray.

Survivors are her son; James Diggs of Brookhaven; her daughter,Willie Mae Brown of Brookhaven; seven grandchildren; 17great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and a host ofnieces and nephews.

W.H. ‘Junior’ Hinton

Services for W.H. “Junior” Hinton of Mendenhall are 2 p.m.,Monday, May 2, at Mims Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel in Magee withburial in Athens Baptist Church Cemetery in Mendenhall.

Visitation is Sunday from 5-8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mr. Hinton, 76, died March 29, 2005, at his residence. He wasborn in Simpson County on Oct. 3, 1928 to William Hilburn HintonSr., and Virdue Herrington Hinton.

He was a matinence worker for ten years at Legion Lake in Magee.He wa also a self-employed farmer for many years. He was a memberof Athens Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He alsoenjoyed gardening.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife of 57 years, Eva Jean May Hinton; hischildren, Marilyn Wallace of Wesson, Joyce Skinner of Pearl, PhilHinton of Madison, and Sandra Prestwood of Hazlehurst; his sisters,Betty Jo Rankin and Myrna Lee Bougon, both of Magee; his brother,James Hinton; and six grandchildren.

Howard R. Stewart

Mr. Stewart, 54, died April 29, 2005, at Southwest RegionalMedical Center. He was born in Lincoln County on Dec. 2, 1950, toHarvey Stewart and Gladys Martin Stewart.

He was a painter.

Survivors are his wife, Mary R. Stewart of Brookhaven; hisex-wife, Judy Dykes of Brookhaven; his daughter and son-in-law,Mary and Michael Young of Monticello; his sons anddaughters-in-law, Randall and Shannon Frost, and Howard Jr. andStacy Stewart, all of Brookhaven; his step-sons, Joey DeLon, andNicholas DeLon Sr., both of Louisiana; his sister, Shirley King ofBrookhaven; his brother, Pete Stewart of Brookhaven; and 17grandchildren. of Copiah County.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Marvin Massey.

Survivors are her son, Gene S. Massey of Hattiesburg; and threegrandchildren.
