Davidson signs pact with C-L Lady Wolves

Brookhaven Academy’s Kristian Davidson has a basketball futurewith Copiah-Lincoln Community College. The 6-foot senior has signeda scholarship to play for Coach Gwyn Young’s Lady Wolves.
“I feel good about signing with Co-Lin,” said Davidson. “I’mlooking forward to it.”
Davidson played the post position at Brookhaven Academy, helpinglead the Lady Cougars to a fourth straight Class AA StateTournament title. They were MPSA Overall Tournament champions in2004, finishing 43-0.
As a senior, Davidson averaged 14 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.2steals per game for Coach Barry Gray as the Lady Cougars finished36-2. She also starred in softball, playing third base.
Davidson, the daughter of Teresa Beasley, said she plans tomajor in radiology at Co-Lin.
“I’m excited and happy for Kristian,” said Coach Gray. “She hassome untapped potential and should really do well at the juniorcollege level.
“I’m confident she will play two more years at the seniorcollege level when she finishes at Co-Lin,” Gray continued. “Shehas great hands and she’s very athletic. She runs the floor welland has a soft shooting touch. She has a knack for getting theoffensive rebounds. I’ve enjoyed coaching her.”
Young’s Lady Wolves finished 15-8 last season. His recruitingpriority has been players with athletic ability.
“Kristian has played in a good system and she knows how to win,”said Young. “She runs the floor well and her offensive skills haveimproved. She’s athletic and fairly strong.”
Young said Davidson would probably play a small forward positionfor the Lady Wolves. “She shoots the ball well.”
