Graveside services for Rosa Brown, of Monticello, are 10 a.m.,Tuesday, May 31 at New Zion Baptist Church cemetery in Monticello.Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Brown, 87, died May 26, 2005, at Lawrence County NursingCenter. She was born in Marion County on May 9, 1918, to Sam Martinand Docia Anna Russell.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Southgate BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, BraimeBrown; and her sisters, Ottis M. Martin Carr and Etta MaeComeaux.

Survivors are her brother, Norman Martin, of Monticello.

George Castilaw

Services for George Castilaw, of Brookhaven, were 11 a.m.Tuesday, May 24 at Brookhaven Funeral Home with burial in WellmanBaptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Castilaw, 91, died May 20, 2005, at Countrybrook LivingCenter. He was born in Lincoln County on June 16, 1913, to John D.Castilaw and Ellen Norris Castilaw.

He was retired from Mobil Oil Company. He was a deacon andmember of Victory Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his brothers, Albert,Buddy, Richard, Tommy, Ernest, Bill and Benny Castilaw; one sister,Fanny Fugler; and a daughter, Alice Faye Castilaw.

Survivors are his wife of 70 years, Willie Cleveland Castilaw,of Brookhaven; his daughters, Mary Ellen Louviere, of Vidor, Texas,Shirley A. White and her husband, Bill, of Port Neches, Texas, andKathy Harris and her husband, Mike, of Vidor; his sons, Charles E.Castilaw and his wife, Linda, George D. Castilaw and his wife,Bonny, and John Paul Castilaw and his wife, Sue, all of Vidor; 20grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 11great-great-grandchildren.

Clementine Edwards

Services for Clementine Edwards, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m.,Tuesday, May 31 at Center Street Church of Christ with burial inHillcrest Cemetery.

Visitation is Monday from noon until 7 p.m., with family presentat 6 p.m. at Williams Mortuary.

Mrs. Edwards, 78, died May 24, 2005, at Quality Hospice inBiloxi. She was born in Lincoln County on April 15, 1927, toSampson Franklin Sr. and Henrietta Franklin.

She was retired. She graduated Alexander High School in 1947,and attended Alcorn College. She was a member of Center StreetChurch of Christ.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, HillaryEdwards; her brothers, Joseph Franklin, Johnny Lee Franklin, andSampson Franklin Jr.; and a grandson, Jeremy Baker.

Survivors are her daughters and sons-in-law, Henrietta Adams, ofChicago, Ill., Betty Baker Rucks, of Brookhaven, Betty Jo and BurnaWilliams, of Caseyville, and Lillie and Michael Monroe, ofGulfport; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Ila and L.C. Benjamin,and Audry Rauls, all of Brookhaven, and Shirley Bracey, of Chicago;seven grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and otherrelatives.

Dorothy Welch Johnson

Services for Dorothy Welch Johnson, of Bogue Chitto, are 10a.m., Monday, May 30 at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burialin Easthaven Cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Johnson, 83, died May 28, 2005, at Southwest MississippiRegional Medical Center. She was born in Norfield on Sept. 10,1921, to Grover Cleveland Welch and Verna Fisk Welch.

She was a retired bookkeeper. She was a member of Johnson GroveChurch of Christ. She was also a member of the Eastern Star ofBogue Chitto.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and a brother andsister-in-law, Grover C. and Tommie Ruth Welch Jr.

Survivors are her husband, Elmer H. Johnson; her stepsons, ElmerRandall Johnson and Wayne Johnson, both of Natchez; her sister andbrother-in-law, Edith W. and Hendrick Laird, of Natchez; and herbrother and sister-in-law, Thomas E. and Dorothy B. Welch, of BogueChitto.

Pallbearers will be Kent Welch, Ricky Welch, Corey Welch, ChrisWelch, Mark Welch and David Johnson.

George Washington Lewis

Services for George Washington Lewis, of Natchez, are 2 p.m.,Sunday, May 29 at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel in Natchezwith burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The services will beconducted by Elder Gerald Williams and Jerry L. Britt.

Mr. Lewis, 79, died May 27, 2005, at Natchez Regional MedicalCenter. He was born in Lincoln County on Dec. 22, 1925, to T.D. andEthel Smith Lewis.

He was a Navy veteran with service in World War II in some ofthe fiercest naval battles of the Pacific. He was retired fromJohns Manville after 42 years of service.

Preceding him in death were his parents; seven brothers; andthree sisters.

Survivors are his sons and daughter-in-law, Robert and AnnetteLewis, and Tommy Lewis; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Prentissand Annie Lewis, and Eugene and Genie Lewis; his sisters-in-law,Adell Lewis and Fannie Lee Lewis; his grandchildren andgrandchildren-in-law, Michael George and Misty Lewis, Dana Lewis,and Eric and Cassey Gulley; one great-grandson, Colton DanielLewis; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives; and hisfriend, Catherine Davis and her family.

Pallbearers will be Leon Comeaux, Lamar Curry, Bill White,Mickey Lawrence, Chris Jordan, Michael George Lewis, Bubba May,Mike Skates, and Thomas Clyde Hancock.

Honorary pallbearers will be Buddy Williams, Melvin Williams,members of Salem Primitive Baptist Church; Mississippi FoxhuntersAssociation; and all his many hunting and fishing buddies.

Louise Calcote Moorer

Mrs. Moorer, 84, died May 27, 2005, at North Mississippi MedicalCenter in Tupelo. She was born in Lucien on Sept. 22, 1920, toWilliam Henry Calcote and Ruth Ann Smith Calcote.

She was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi andreceived her masters degree from the University of North Carolina.She was a teacher in the Gulfport Public School System for manyyears. She was a member of First Baptist Church in CalhounCity.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, William B.Moorer Sr.; a sister, Elsie White; and two brothers, Robert EarlCalcote and Richard Calcote.

Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Jane and CharlesHardin, of Calhoun City; her sons, William B. Moorer Jr., ofGautier, and John F. Moorer of Biloxi; her sisters, Flora Byrd, ofGuntersville, Ala., Nellie Denman, of Smithdale, Dorothy Poole, ofHernando, and Ruth Way, of Georgetown, Texas; her brothers, DavidCalcote, of Brookhaven, and James Calcote, of Gulfport; fourgrandsons; and two great-grandsons.
