Services for Marguerite Sasser Boyd, of Edgefield, S.C., are 10a.m. Tuesday, June 14 at Arlington Baptist Church in Bogue Chittowith burial in Moak-Sasser Family Cemetery in Bogue Chitto.
Visitation is Monday from 5-8 p.m. at Brookhaven FuneralHome.
Mrs. Boyd, 83, died June 5, 2005, at Trinity Mission Health andRehabilitation Center in Edgefield. She was born in Lincoln Countyon Aug. 31, 1921, to Randolph R. Scott and Alice Smith Scott.
A native of Bogue Chitto, Mrs. Boyd had resided near her son inSouth Carolina for the past six years.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands, HaroldSasser and Kary Boyd, both of Bogue Chitto; her daughter, JeanWhyte, of Cordova, Tenn.; her brothers, Ralph Scott, of Natchez,and Randolph Scott, of Brookhaven; and a stepchild, Dan Boyd, ofBrookhaven.
Survivors are her sons, Earl Sasser and his wife, Emilia, ofNorth Augusta, S.C. and Jearl Sasser and his wife, Betty, ofProctorville, Ohio; her stepchildren, Shirley Leggett, of McComb,Roger Boyd, of Brookhaven, and Fred Boyd, of Summit; her brothers,Jerry Scott, of Florence; her sister, Mildred Miller, of Tijeres,N.M.; her seven grandchildren, Chad Sasser, of Atlanta, Ga., JasonSasser, of Charlotte, N.C., Autumn Drane, of Versailles, Ky.,Heather Sowards, of Proctorville, Amber Sasser, of South Point,Ohio, Baker Whyte, of Collierville, Tenn., and Julie Whyte, ofCollierville; and numerous great-grandchildren.
