John C. Huffman

Services for John C. Huffman of Meadville, are 2 p.m. Tuesday,June 21 at Franklin Funeral Home Chapel with burial in MidwayCemetery in Meadville.

Mr. Huffman, 76, died June 19, 2005, at Franklin MemorialHospital in Meadville. He was born in Franklin County on May 15,1929 to Henry Huffman and Annie Travis Huffman.

He was retired from International Paper Company after 35 yearsin Natchez. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He was amember of New Hope Baptist Church.

He is proceeded in death by his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Louisa Jones Huffman, of Meadville; hisdaughter Becky Patterson, of Sumrall; his son, Mike Huffman, ofMeadville; his sisters, Ottise Mae Tinsley and Ena Wroten, both ofMcCall Creek; one grandchild and six stepgrandchildren; and onegreat-grandchild.

Hosie F. Smith

Services for Hosie F. Smith, of Union Church, are 11 a.m.Tuesday, June 21 at Union Church Baptist Church in Union Churchwith burial in the Union Church Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home andTuesday from 10-11 a.m. at the church.

Mr. Smith, 82, died June 19, 2005, at the G.V. “Sonny”Montgomery Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Jackson. He was bornin Franklin County on July 20, 1922, to Joseph Smith and MelissaJenkins Smith.

He was retired from the Jefferson County and Mississippi Statehighway departments. He was a veteran of the World War II, where heserved in the Army. He was a member of Union Church BaptistChurch.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Doris Smith;three sisters, Edna S. Barlow, Ruby S. Stroud and Josie S. Posey;and his brothers, Harmon Smith and Clinton C. “Dick” Smith.

Survivors are his daughters, Vickey S. Norton, of Brookhaven,Penny S. Norton, of Brookhaven, Trudy S. Keller, of Union Church,and Mechelle S. Hines, of Richland; his sons, Philip E. Smith, ofBrookhaven, Joey C. Smith, of Union Church, Lanny Smith ofBrookhaven, and Danny Smith, of Union Church; 13 grandchildren; andtwo great-grandchildren.
