For more than 25 area agencies and organizations, United Wayplays an important role in their ability to provide services andactivities for their clients.

The help the agencies receive, however, starts with thecharitable pledges and donations by individuals, businesses andtheir employees. Money given to the United Way directly orindirectly goes to help Lincoln County citizens’ lives and toenrich the community as a whole.

The United Way call has been answered as the annual campaignoften has exceeded its fund-raising goal. Just a few years ago, thecampaign set and surpassed the $200,000 mark.

United Way of Lincoln County leaders this year have set afund-raising goal of $195,000. Following some off years, likelybecause of tighter economic times, organizers say the goal isrealistic as they try revamp and spark renewed interest in thecampaign.

The 2005-06 campaign will be kicking off in August. We wouldencourage citizens to give generously to United Way because, as theold slogan said, “Thanks to you, it works…for all of us.”
