Services for Rufus Lee Humphrey, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.Sunday, July 24 at Ebenezer A.M.E. Church on Jackson Liberty Roadwith burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation is Saturday from noon until 5 p.m., with a wake from6-7 p.m. at Marshall Funeral Home Chapel in Brookhaven. Visitationand a slide show will be from noon until 2 p.m. Sunday at thechurch.

Mr. Humphrey, 87, died July 19, 2005, at Countrybrook LivingCenter. He was born in Lincoln County on April 24, 1918, to JohnPriscilla Culver Humphrey.

Preceding him in death were his parents; three wives, MaeFrances Gibson Humphrey, Margaret Paxton Humphrey and Ada BeardHumphrey; two brothers, Solomon Humphrey and Luther Humphrey; andone sister, Sallie Robinson.

Survivors are his two daughters, Mary Ruth Hospkins and HelenLofton; two sons, Ladell Henderson and Michael Tyler; one uncle,Willie Humphrey; one sister-in-law, Cloratee Humphrey; 13grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces,nephews, other relatives and friends.
