Mildred Cain Brooks

Services for Mildred Cain Brooks, of Chicago Heights, Ill.,formerly of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m. Saturday, July 30 at KynettUnited Methodist Church with burial in Carver Heights Cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from noon until 7 p.m. with family hourfrom 6 to 7 p.m. at Williams Mortuary.

Mrs. Brooks, 84, died July 22, 2005, at Prairie Manor NursingHome in Chicago Heights. She was born on March 11, 1921, to JoeCain and Mary Holmes Cain.

She was a retired registered nurse. She was a 1946 graduate ofAlexander High School and Wentworth College, where she earned adegree in Elementary Education, Nursing and Cosmetology. She was amember of Kynett United Methodist Church, the Friendship TempleOrder of the Elks, and the Star Hope Chapter of Eastern StarChapter 698.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, SylvesterHarvey Sr.; his sister, Bernice McBride; and her brothers, Roy Cainand J.L. Cain.

Survivors are her son, Sylvester Harvey Jr., of Tinley Park,Ill.; her daughter, Sandra Wilson, of Country Club Hills, Ill.; hersister, Marlene Caston, of Fayetteville, N.C.; her brother, Joe L.Cain, of University Park, Ill.; five grandchildren; onegreat-grandchild; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
