Services for Zulieme Thetford Pierce of Ridgeland were 11 a.m.,Wednesday, July 27, at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon withburial in Lakeland Memorial Park.

Mrs. Pierce, 91, died July 24, 2005 at Hospice Ministries inRidgeland. She was born to Marion Thetford and Mader BorenThetford.

She was a native of Claiborne County. She was an avid gardenerand loved the outdoors. She was a member of Brandon First UnitedMethodist Church.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Wylie Pierce.

Survivors are her daughter, Janice Pierce Dotherow; twograndchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Eloweese Jones Spring

Services for Eloweese Jones Spring of Smithdale were 11 a.m.,Tuesday, Aug. 2, at Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church with burialin the church cemetery. Jones Family Funeral Services is in chargeof arrangements.

Visitation is Monday from 5-9 p.m., and Tuesday from 9-11 a.m.,at the church.

Mrs. Spring, 83, died July 30, 2005, at Kenner Regional Hospitalin Kenner, La. She was born in Franklin County on Nov. 28, 1921, toRuffus and Georgia Jones.

She was a homemaker and loving mother, grandmother andgreat-grandmother. She was a longtime member of Mt. GileadPrimitive Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, JamesWilliam Spring; her daughter, Marjorie Spring Roper; her brothers,Fred, Ellis, Bert and Forrest Spring; her sisters, Bernette Laird,Adelle Smith, Rosalie Womack and Juanita Beeson; a grandson, JosephRoper; and a granddaughter, Angie Spring Coleman.

Survivors are her sons and daughters-in-law, Joe Allen andYolanda Spring, William Leroy and Janice Spring, James BernardSpring, and John Ellis and Betty Spring, all of Smithdale; herdaughters and sons-in-law, Gloria and David Wicker, and Sheilah andTravis Young, all of Smithdale, and Georgia and Chris Daughdrill ofLoranger, La.; her son-in-law, Joe Roeper of Smithdale; and hersisters, Rubye Taylor and Berniece Brewer, both of Smithdale; 27grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
