Man jailed in stabbing; his victim recovering

A Bogue Chitto man was charged with aggravated assault Mondayafternoon following a stabbing at a residence on Enterprise Road,authorities said.
Wade Lambert remained in jail today after allegedly stabbing hisbrother-in-law Danny Thomas at Thomas’ residence around 2:45 p.m.Monday, said Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department Investigator JamesHall.
Lambert, 49, of 2844 Willow Lane, was at the home when Thomasreturned with his nephews Chris Little and Eric Rials, Hall said.The investigator said Thomas, 50, was stabbed after Lambert cameforward for an apparent greeting.
“There was no altercation, no bad words, nothing,” Hallsaid.
Thomas was struck in the right side below the chest and fell tothe ground.
Hall said Lambert then allegedly chased the nephews and got intoan altercation with Little. He said Little prevailed and was ableto subdue Lambert.
“Chris held him down until we got there,” Hall said.
Lambert sustained minor injuries in that altercation. He wastreated at King’s Daughters Medical Center and released.
Thomas was listed in good condition this morning at KDMC. Ahospital spokeswoman said he was expected to be moved from theintensive care unit to a regular patient room today.
