Services for Virginia Rae Smith, of Brookhaven, are 3 p.m.Saturday, Aug. 27 at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel withburial in Rosehill Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith, 67, died Aug. 26, 2005, at her residence. She wasborn in Brookhaven on July 23, 1938, to E.V. Fairchild and RubyHarveston Fairchild.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Pearlhaven BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, John E.Fairchild and Marvin Fairchild; and one son, Tony Smith.

Survivors are her husband, Phillip Smith, of Brookhaven; herdaughter, Cynthia Smiley and her husband, Bruce, of Baton Rouge;her granddaughter, Candance Barbay and her husband, Joey, of BatonRouge, La.; two grandsons, Joey Smiley and Tony Smiley, of BatonRouge, La.; her sisters, Lydia Brent and her husband, Gerald, ofSilver Creek, Catherine Callendar and her husband, Dale, ofBrookhaven, Ruth Waldrop, of Brookhaven, and Margaret Smith, ofByrum; her brothers, Henry Fairchild and his wife, Jennifer, andRoy Fairchild and his wife, Joyce, all of Brookhaven; and a host ofnieces and nephews.
