Services for Loyd Glen Smith, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m.Saturday, Aug. 27 at Friendship Baptist Church with burial in thechurch cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5 to 9 p.m. at Riverwood Family FuneralService.

Mr. Smith, 53, died Aug. 24, 2005, at Baptist Hospital inJackson. He was born in Lincoln County on Aug. 30, 1951, to LoydEdgar and Laverne Herring Smith.

He was an employee of Georgia Pacific at the Monticello mill. Hewas a member of USW Local No. 1369. Over the course of his 33 yearsof employment he formed many lasting friendships with hisco-workers. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He was anavid Harley Davidson rider who loved going on biker trips with hisfriend Bob Leary. He was a huge NASCAR fan. He was a loving husbandand father.

Preceding him in death was his father, Loyd Edgar Smith.

Survivors are his wife, Sharon Brister Smith; his pride and joydaughter, Clancy Beth and his stepson, Marshall Morgan; his motherLaverne Smith, of Brookhaven; his sister, Elaine andbrother-in-law, Stanley Gipson, of Petal, and Nancy andbrother-in-law, Bill Haag, of Brookhaven; his life long runningbuddy, Roger Smith; his Mexican compadre, Clyde Herrera; hisfriends, H.T. and Ray; his nephews, nieces, loving in-laws, and ahost of family and friends.
