The visiting Salem Lady Wildcats held off a late rally byEnterprise to escape with a 4-3 slowpitch softball division winover the Lady Yellow Jackets Thursday night.

Salem led Enterprise 4-0 going in to the bottom of the fourthwhere the Jackets racked up three runs to cut the deficit to onerun.

The Jackets out hit the Wildcats 8-5 but the hosts committedfive errors to one for the visitors.

Ashley Greer powered Enterprise with a double and a single.Lindsey Everett and Melane Rutland doubled. Singling were AlishaMason, Amanda Price, Erika Rutland and Whitney Kyzar.

Price (5-4) was the losing hurler with one strikeout and threewalks.

Junior varsity

Enterprise knocked off Salem 7-2, powered by Sarah Burke’sdouble. Katie Caves singled twice. Amy Lambert hit safely.

Enterprise (6-4, 0-1) will play Saturday in the Bogue ChittoTournament. The Jackets face McComb at 10 a.m. in the firstgame.
