A Brookhaven man was slightly injured in an accident that killeda Natchez man on Highway 98 west of Summit around 11 a.m. Thursday,according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol.

Jarred Cortez Ford, 18, of Natchez, was killed when he crossedinto the eastbound lane of Highway 98 and ran head-on into a 1999Frieghtliner tractor hauling logs driven by Leon Rushing, 67, of1280 Bennie Trail NW. Rushing was driving for Steve Watts TimberCo., of Brookhaven, MHP Staff Sgt. Rod Crawford said.

Ford was pronounced dead at the scene, Crawford said.

Peoples Funeral Home in McComb is in charge of arrangements.
