A memorial service for Fred Morris Jernigan, of CountrybrookLiving Center, Brookhaven, formerly of Laurel, are 10 a.m.Thursday, Sept. 8 at Bethesda Methodist Church in Crystal Springs.Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Jernigan, 98, died Aug. 31, 2005, at Countrybrook LivingCenter, where he had lived since 1991.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Ella; two daughters, MaryBernice Taylor and Minnie Louise Taylor; his sisters, Allie Oakmanand Ola Johnson, of Crystal Springs; his brothers, Jewel Jernigan,of New Orleans, and Marvin Jernigan, of Bessemer, Ala.

Survivors are his sister, Rosa Boykin, of Crystal Springs; 13nieces; 12 nephews; and his cousins. He is also survived bynumerous great nieces and nephews and their children.
