Graveside services for Charles Joseph Bowers, of Port Sulphur,La., are 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 8 at Riverwood Memorial Park.

Mr. Bowers, 69, died of heart failure Sept. 3, 2005, in BogueChitto. He was born on March 10, 1936, to Ruben Sidney Bowers andBlanche Frisch Bowers.

He was retired from Exxon. He was Catholic.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and his wife, SarahBush Bowers.

Survivors are his daughters, Rachel Bowers Small, of PortSulphur, and Lori Ann Bowers, of Bogue Chitto; his sons, CharlesBrady Bowers, Joseph Todd Bowers and Stephens Travis Bowers, all ofPort Sulphur; his sisters, Ruby Galloway, of Empire, La., andEmelda Chevlier, of Port Sulphur; a special friend, Elaine LeJeune,of Port Sulphur; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Mr. Brothern, 71, died Sept. 4, 2005, at Haven Hall Health CareCenter. He was born on June 14, 1934, to Willard Benson and MaryBrothern.

He was a retired logger. He was a member of Center Street Churchof Christ.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, John D.Brothern; and a daughter, Gloria Smith.

He is survived by two grandchildren.

Mrs. Eickenloff, 63, died Sept. 5, 2005, at her daughter’s home.She was born in North Little Rock, Ark., on March 1, 1942, toWilliam Bruce Johnson and Ruth Sue Daniel Johnson.

She worked for 25 years at Sears and was employed with King’sDaughters Medical Center as an executive assistant in maintenance.She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death was her father.

Survivors are her mother, Ruth Sue Daniel Johnson, of SugarLand, Texas; her husband, the Rev. Mrs. Hall, 91, died Sept. 4, 2005, at her home in Vicksburg. Shewas born in Gulfport on Oct. 17, 1913, to James E. and Teresa HechtSwetman.

She grew up in Biloxi and was a graduate of Biloxi High School.She attended Louisiana State University Nursing School at theCharity Hospital in New Orleans, where she finished with a degreeas a nurse anesthetist.

She married Dr. Donald Street Hall Sr. while at Charity Hospitalin New Orleans. She practiced nurse anesthesiology in New York Cityat Johns Hopkins Medical Center during Dr. Hall’s medical training.They returned to Vicksburg for a short while until World War II.After the war they returned to Vicksburg. She was a charter memberof the Vicksburg Junior Auxiliary. She was active in her gardenclub and many local charities.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, Dr.Donald Street Hall Sr.

Survivors are her sons, Dr. Donald S. Hall Jr., of Vicksburg,and Dr. James Hall, of Brookhaven; her grandchildren, Katherine AnnHall, Valerie Hall, Madeleine Hall and Sam Hall; and numerousnieces, nephews and other relatives.

Jimmy Hammond

Mr. Hammond, 67, died Sept. 5, 2005, at Southwest MississippiRegional Medical Center in McComb. He was born on Feb. 13, 1938, toJohnnie Dudley Hammond and Lanelle Robbins Hammond.

He was a retired oil field worker for Arthusia Oil Co. He was amember of the National Guard and the Monticello Baptist Church. Hewas also a member of the Lawrence County Cattlemen’sAssociation.

Fred Morris Jernigan

He was a a retired mail carrier and supervisor for the U.S.Mail. He served in the Navy during World War II. He was a member ofNorthside Baptist Church in Clinton.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and one brother, Joe C.Langston.

He was a retired carpenter for Sheppard Builders in Jackson. Heserved in the Army during World War II. He was a member of OakvaleBaptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a daughter, Janice AnnSpeights Davis; a sister, Sarah Speights Hill; and agreat-grandchild, Macy Lynn Mason.

George Harold Stokes

Mr. Stokes, 85, died Sept. 2, 2005, at St. Anne Hospital inRaceland, La. He was born in Bogalusa, La., on June 7, 1920, toGeorge C. Stokes and Edna May Wooley Stokes.

He was an engineer for more than 40 years for the SouthernPacific Railroad. He was a veteran of World War II where he servedin the Army. He was a member of Central Church of Christ.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one sister, HelenStokes; and one brother, Ray Stokes.

Survivors are his wife, Mary Young Stokes, of Gretna; his son,Terry C. Stokes Sr. and his wife, Mary Unser Stokes; threegrandchildren, Theresa Stokes, Julie Stokes and Terry C. StokesJr.; two great-grandchildren, Hannah Katie Stokes and LaurenWheeler Stokes.
