Meeting change

The Lincoln County school board will hold its regular Septembermeeting at 5 p.m. Thursday in the central office. The meeting wasoriginally scheduled for Sept. 6 because of the Labor Day holidaybut was postponed due to Hurricane Katrina.

Volunteers needed

The American Red Cross needs volunteers (over 18 years of age)to help in its warehouse located at 120 Boyce Drive (the Sola Fidebuilding). Please call (601) 833-1411 if you can help.

Event canceled

An open house scheduled for 6-7 p.m. Thursday at Lipsey MiddleSchool has been canceled, school officials said. A new date for theevent has not be set.

Show won’t go on

“Fashion by the Designer,” a girls’ fashion show by Fair RiverBaptist Church, originally scheduled for Saturday, has beenrescheduled for Oct. 22. Because of Hurricane Katrina, the LincolnCounty Multi-Use Facility is unavailable.
