Services for Clinton Byrd, of Brookhaven, were 3 p.m. Sunday,Sept. 18 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, with burial in thechurch cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.
Mr. Byrd, 90, died Sept. 16, 2005, at Countrybrook LivingCenter. He was born in Pike County on Nov. 23, 1914, to JamesMonroe Byrd and Beulah Herring Byrd.
He was a retired contractor and in the wood business. He was amember of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Martell SmithByrd; his daughter, Janice Novak; and his brother, CharlesByrd.
Survivors are his daughters, Bonnie Beach and her husband,Robert, of Brookhaven, and Shirley Nations and her husband, Jerry,of Brookhaven; his brother, William Byrd and Lewis “Tuck” Byrd,both of Brookhaven; his grandchildren, Randy Day, Greg Day, AmandaRussell, Rhonda Rayborn, Tanza Brown, Laura Massey, Janee’ Novak,and Jamison Novack; his 16 great-grandchildren; and his care giver,Yvonne Scott, of Caseyville.
