W.D. Atterberry

Services for W.D. Atterberry of El Paso, Texas, formerly ofMonticello, are 11 a.m. Saturday at Quinn Temple in Monticello withburial in the church cemetery. Williams Mortuary is in charge ofarrangements.

Mr. Atterberry, 50, died Sept. 18, 2005, in Juarez, Mexico. Hewas born on Feb. 27, 1955.

He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a graduate of Monticello HighSchool.

J.D. Blue

Services for J.D. Blue of Brookhaven are 11 a.m. Saturday atCenter Street Church of Christ with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery.Tyler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday from noon to 7 p.m. with a family hour from6-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Blue, 53, died Sept. 17, 2005, at Southwest MississippiRegional Medical Center in McComb. He was born in Brookhaven onApril 1, 1952, to Josephine Tucker of Brookhaven and the lateSeavey Blue.

He was disabled. He served in the Mississippi Army NationalGuard during the Vietnam era.

Survivors are his mother; his brothers, M.L. Blue of Oakland,Calif., J.W. Washington of Jackson and O.C. Tucker of Broookhaven;his sisters, Mayflower Ffelix of St. Paul, Minn., and HelenGriffin, Della Mae Roberson, Annie Bell Brooks, Queen EstherHawkins and Mary Nell Dixon, all of Brookhaven; and a host ofnieces and nephews.

Joseph Carroll Smith

Services for Joseph Carroll Smith of Brookhaven are 11 a.m.Friday at New Prospect Baptist Church with burial in the churchcemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Thursday from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Smith, 44, died Sept. 20, 2005, in an automobile accident inVicksburg. He was born on Jan. 16, 1961, to Roger Smith and LorettaNix Smith.

He was with J&J Construction Local 114 and the InternationalPaper Co. in Vicksburg. He was a member of New Prospect BaptistChurch.

Preceding him/her in death were his grandparents, Willis andMaude Smith and Joe and Gladys Nix; his father-in-law, Herman B.Goss Jr.; his niece Keba Rebecca Whittington; and an aunt, JoannSmith.

Survivors are his parents; his wife, Susan Goss Smith; his son,Josepth Garrett Smith; his daughter, Elaina Jo Smith; his brother,Roger Dale Smith; his sisters, Karen Smith Howell, all ofBrookhaven, Kathy Smith Whittington of Smithdale and Lori SmithWright of Brookhaven; his brothers-in-law, Richard W. Goss, DavidM. Goss, Thomas Goss and Kenneth D. Goss, all of Brookhaven; hissister-in-law, Kathy M. Goss of Brookhaven; and his mother-in-law,Bille A. Goss of Brookhaven.
