Florence clips Brookhaven 13-6

FLORENCE — The Florence Lady Eagles knocked off the BrookhavenLady Panthers 13-6 in varsity girls slowpitch softball districtaction Thursday. Jessica Dennis was the winning pitcher andBrittany Smith (12-3, 5-1) absorbed the loss.

For Brookhaven, Terri Hodges led with a double and two singles.Jana Wallace and Brittany Smith collected three singles apiece.Katie Stewart and Katie Smith each singled twice. Singling wereChristi Martin, Ashley Sykes and Sabrina DeLaughter.
