Services for Donald James Houff of Hernando are 1 p.m., Monday,Sept. 26, 2005 at Riverwood Family Funeral Home with burial in Mt.Olive Church of Christ Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Houff, 57, died Sept. 20, 2005 at Desoto Baptist Hospital.He was born on March 30, 1948, to James Luther Houff and AnnelineTindal Houff.

He was a Floor Supervisor at Sam’s Town Casino. He was a memberof the Catholic faith.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his brother, JimmyHouff; and his grandmother, Alletta Houff.

Survivors are his wife, Pamela L. Houff, of Hernando; his hons,Brandon Houff and his wife Jennifer, of Flowood, and Adrien Houffand his wife Nicki, of Hernando; his sister, Anna Hood, ofBellflower, Calif.; and his grandson, Blake Edward Houff.

Sherry A. Ervin Powell

Services for Sherry A. Ervin Powell of Monticello are 2 p.m.,today, Sept. 25, 2005 at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with burial inShiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in Sontag.

Visitation was Saturday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and today from8 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the chapel.

Mrs. Powell, 51, died Sept. 22, 2005 at her residence. She wasborn in Lincoln County on Aug. 27, 1954, to Edwin Peck Ervin andGloria Smith Ervin.

She was a part time cashier at Wal-Mart. She was a member ofShiloh Bapist Church.

Preceding her in death were her infant brother, Sidney EarlErvin; and her grandparents.

Survivors are her parents; her sons, Bradley Powell and his wifeJanet, of Starkville, and Zack Powell and his wife Heather, ofMonticello; her sister, Debbie Ward, of Sontag; and hergranddaughters, Baily Powell, of Starkville, and Anna KatelynnPowell, of Monticello.

Joseph Carroll Smith

Services for Joseph Carroll Smith of Brookhaven were 11 a.m.Friday at New Prospect Baptist Church with burial in the churchcemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Home was in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation was Thursday from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Smith, 44, died Sept. 20, 2005, in an automobile accident inVicksburg. He was born on Jan. 16, 1961, to Roger Smith and LorettaNix Smith.

He was with J&J Construction Local 114 and the InternationalPaper Co. in Vicksburg. He was a member of New Prospect BaptistChurch.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Willis and MaudeSmith and Joe and Gladys Nix; his father-in-law, Herman B. GossJr.; his niece Rebecca Ann Whittington; and an aunt, JoannSmith.

Survivors are his parents; his wife, Susan Goss Smith; his son,Joseph Garrett Smith; his daughter, Elaina Jo Smith; his brother,Roger Dale Smith; his sisters, Karen Smith Howell, all ofBrookhaven, Kathy Smith Whittington of Smithdale and Lori SmithWright of Brookhaven; his brothers-in-law, Richard W. Goss, DavidM. Goss, Thomas Goss and Kenneth D. Goss, all of Brookhaven; hissister-in-law, Kathy M. Goss of Brookhaven; and his mother-in-law,Bille A. Goss of Brookhaven; and a host of neices and nephews.

Services for Edith White of Brookhaven are 4 p.m. , today, Sept.25, 2005 at Community Funeral Home with burial in Sweet WaterMethodist Cemetery in Cennintial.

Visitation is Today from 2:30 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. White, 95, died Sept. 23, 2005 at Haven Hall Nursing Home.She was born in Copiah County on Dec. 21, 1909, to C. C. Stuart andAlthea Ainsworth Stuart..

She was retired from Greyhound Bus Line. She was a member ofBusiness Profession Women’s Club of Brookhaven.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, William D.White; one son; three brothers; and two sisters.

Survivors are her daughters, Darlene Larsen, of Carson City,Nev., and Rayna Schubert, of New Orleans; her brother, CharlieFrank, of Wesson; and two grandchildren.

Diamond P. Young

Services for Diamond P. Young, of Monticello, are 10 a.m.,Monday, Sept. 26, 2005 graveside at Pleasant Grove United MethodistChurch Cemetery.

Mr. Young, 73, died Sept. 24, 2005, at a Natchez retirementhome. He was born on Aug. 16, 1932, to Larry Hamilton Young andEdna Beason Young.

He was a retired mechanic.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Sophia Young;his daughter, Rhonda Grimes; and his brother, L.H. Young Jr.

Survivors are his sons, Kevin Young, Michael Young, Wayne Young,Ronald Young and Kerry Young, all of Monticello, and Harold Young,of Jackson; his brother, Charles Minton Young Sr., of Monticello;and his sister, Shirley Monk, of Monticello.; and 15 grandchildren,22 great-grandchildren and several stepgreat-grandchildren.
