Services for A.C. Newell Jr. of Brookhaven are 2 p.m. Wednesdayat First United Pentecostal Church in Wesson with burial inEasthaven Cemetery in Brookhaven.

Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m.until service time at the church.

Mr. Newell, 76, died Oct. 2, 2005, at Veterans AdministrationMedical Center in Jackson. He was born in Brookhaven on June 6,1929, to the late A.C. Newell Sr. and Haley Newell Newell.

He was a driller with Odeco Offshore Drilling before becomingdisabled. He was a member of First United Pentecostal Church inWesson. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Doris LackMcCullough Newell; his brother, Russell Newell of Brookhaven; hissisters, Ola Hale of Monterey, La., Jody Mae Finfrock and EllieJenkins, both of Vidalia, La., and Arie Nell Hudson and RosieBarlow, both of Wesson.

Survivors are his sons, Dennis McCullough and his wife Paula andLennis McCullough and his wife Jerolyn; his daughters, Sheila Brittand her husband Edward and Brenda Reeves and her husband Howard,all of Brookhaven, and Rita O’Keefe and her husband Paul ofEnglewood, Calif.; his grandchildren, Haley Britt, Cody Reeves,Keanon O’Keefe, Brandi Britt Adams, Heather Reeves, Chris Britt,Jamie Reeves, April McCullough Burris, Mark McCullough, KalaO’Keefe and Jody McCullough; and his great-grandchildren, AshtonMcCullough, Joel Cases-O’Keefe, Dylan Reeves and JaidenO’Keefe.
