Elsie Newton Bowman
Services for Elsie Newton Bowman of Brookhaven were 11 a.m.today at Community Funeral Services with burial in Mt. MoriahBaptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Bowman, 85, died Oct. 3, 2005, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. She was born in Brookhaven on July 8, 1920, to the lateElias Bowman and Roby Algood Bowman.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, HermanBowman; two sons, three brothers and a grandchild.
Survivors are her sons, Kenneth E. Bowman of Brookhaven andRichard I. Bowman of Zachary, La.; her daughter, Katrina Jackson ofBrookhaven; her brothers, Sherman Newton and Roscoe Newton, both ofBrookhaven; her sisters, Nora Bell West, Ella Sandidge and KathleenDriskil, all of Brookhaven; 10 grandchildren; 13great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Services for Royce Shirley Brent of Florence are 2 p.m. Thursdayat Riverwood Chapel with burial in Ruth Cemetery. Riverwood FamilyFuneral Services is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. untilservice time at the funeral home.
Mr. Brent, 74, died Oct. 4, 2005, at his residence. He was bornon Nov. 17, 1930, to the late Walter Versie Brent and Mary LouJolly Brent.
He was retired after 42 years as a machinist for InternationalPaper in Natchez. He was a member of Morgantown Baptist Church. Hewas also the caretaker of his aunt, Marphry Jolly.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a daughter, LindaSue Brent Clark.
Survivors are his wife of 55 years, Sue Maxwell Brent ofFlorence; his sons and daughter-in-laws, Ronald Wayne and EyvetteBrent of Pearl and Donald Layne and Linda Brent of Florence; andfour grandchildren.

Mr. Newell, 76, died Oct. 2, 2005, at Veterans AdministrationMedical Center in Jackson. He was born in Brookhaven on June 6,1929, to the late A.C. Newell Sr. and Haley Newell Newell.
He was a driller with Odeco Offshore Drilling before becomingdisabled. He was a member of First United Pentecostal Church inWesson. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Doris LackMcCullough Newell; his brother, Russell Newell of Brookhaven; hissisters, Ola Hale of Monterey, La., Jody Mae Finfrock and EllieJenkins, both of Vidalia, La., and Arie Nell Hudson and RosieBarlow, both of Wesson.
Survivors are his sons, Dennis McCullough and his wife Paula andLennis McCullough and his wife Jerolyn; his daughters, Sheila Brittand her husband Edward and Brenda Reeves and her husband Howard,all of Brookhaven, and Rita O’Keefe and her husband Paul of Denver,Colo.; his sister, Ruby Lee Britt of Brookhaven; his grandchildren,Haley Britt, Cody Reeves, Keanon O’Keefe, Brandi Britt Adams,Heather Reeves, Chris Britt, Jamie Reeves, April McCullough Burris,Mark McCullough, Kala O’Keefe and Jody McCullough; hisgreat-grandchildren, Ashton McCullough, Joel Cases-O’Keefe, DylanReeves and Jaiden O’Keefe; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services for Linda Dianne Arnold Priest of Heber Springs, Ark.,formerly of Franklin County, are 11 a.m. Thursday at Bude BaptistChurch with burial in Midway Cemetery. Franklin Funeral Home is incharge of arrangements.
Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Priest, 46, died Oct. 3, 2005, in an automobile crash onAuburn Road. She was born in Natchez on June 5, 1959, to AubreyRogers Arnold of McCall Creek and the late Robbie LeePennington.
She was a land oil lease consultant. She was a member of BudeBaptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her mother; grandfather, WilliamAubrey Arnold; and her maternal grandparents.
Survivors are her father; stepmother, Marlene Arnold; her sons,John Mitchell Priest and his wife Ashley, Matthew Adam Priest andJoseph Brett Priest, all of McCall Creek; her brothers, MichaelArnold of McCall Creek and Billy Arnold of Smithdale; hergrandmother, Analo Arnold of McCall Creek; her former husband, JohnRoger Priest of McCall Creek; and a host of nieces and nephews.
