Couple arrested in raid; both facing drug counts

A Topeka couple were arrested early this morning following adrug raid by Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies andagents of the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics.

Trent and Lauren “Kiki” Fuller, of 1033 Highway 27 South, havebeen charged with possession of a controlled substance(methamphetamine) and possession of paraphernalia after theofficers conducted a raid of their home around 2 a.m. today,Lawrence County Sheriff Joel Thames said. Other charges may bepending.

“We haven’t had a chance to weigh it yet, but we recovered anundetermined amount of meth and some paraphernalia,” Thames said.”This has been an ongoing investigation for several months.”

The raid was the result of a joint investigation by the twoagencies resulting from numerous complaints received in the pastyear of alleged drug activity at the residence, the sheriffsaid.

The couple was being held at the Lawrence County Jail until aninitial hearing can be scheduled, Thames said. He expected thehearing would be held late this afternoon or Friday morning todetermine bond.
