Thomas Patrick Gould Jr.

Thomas Patrick Gould Jr., 69, passed away Saturday, Oct. 15,2005, at his home. Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 17 atWilson Funeral Home in Monticello with burial in the MonticelloUnited Methodist Church Cemetery.

Tom was born in Elizabeth and grew up in Oakdale, La. Heattended Texas A&M and graduated from Lamar University in 1959with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology. Tom was a hard workerdedicated to all aspects of his life. He spent over 40 years in thepulp and paper industry retiring from Georgia Pacific in 1993 assuperintendent of the utilities department. He was a member of theNational Association of Watch and Clock Collectors and MagnoliaClock Club. He helped restore the clock in the Lyceum building atthe University of Mississippi.

Tom loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Hewas a loving father and devoted husband. He loved being “Pop” tohis five grandchildren. All of which thought he could fix anythingand he could.

Tom was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Ann Gould; andhis parents, T.P. and Fern Gould, of Oakdale.

Tom is survived by his wife of 45 years, Peggy Brookins Gould;three daughters and their husbands, Missy and Billy Carney, ofHattiesburg, Kathi and John Carney, of Brandon, and Becky and JoeLittle, of Madison; a brother, Randy Gould, of Oakdale; hissisters, Ginger Sallstrom, of Orange, Calif., and Joyce Gould, ofDecatur, Ala.; and five grandchildren.
