“It feels great to score six touchdowns,” said May. His highestprevious scoring total was 4 TDs against Wesson last year.

“The team is really coming around,” said May. “Our defense hascome a long way.”

May said much of his success was due to Enterprise’s improvingoffensive line. They include Justin Vincent, left tackle; VincentSmith, right tackle; Chris Fuller, center, Wayne Nations, rightguard; Trey Boyd and Ky Mathis, left guard; and Brandon Smith, tight end

Recalling his touchdown outburst, May said the most successfulplay was a 24-Power play. “My fullback (Drew Waldrop) hits the holeand knocks the linebacker. My wingback (Alex Powell) goes in thehole, too. They open it up for me.”

Enterprise head coach Roe Burns said he knew May was going tohave a good performance against Cathedral. “Before the game, hetold me, ‘Coach, I really feel good tonight.’ He ran away frompeople Friday night. Cathedral has a pretty good football team andthey couldn’t catch him.”

May (6-2, 205) runs a 4.4 in the 40-yard dash. In the weightroom, he performs a 315-pound bench press and a 400-poundsquat.

Burns said the high heat and humidity in late August botheredMay and it affected his performance. “The first game at Wesson,Terrell was wore out in the second quarter. His legs got tocramping up on him.”

May’s blood pressure was slightly elevated and his physiciansuggested a diet to lose weight. “The doctor said he had to loseabout 20 pounds,” said Burns. “It’s taken him about three weeks todo that. He’s down to 190 pounds.”

May has a strong testament to share for the many hours the teamspent in the offseason weight training and physical fitnessprogram. “We are bigger, faster and stronger this year,” said Mayregarding his team. “The weight program helped us a lot. Hard workis paying off.”

Asked about Coach Burns and his contribution to the team’ssuccess, May said, “I have learned a lot from Coach Burns. Healways keeps you in the game.”

Presently, the Jackets are preparing for back-to-back Region4-1A road games on the Gulf Coast, against Mercy Cross and St.John.

“We want to make the state playoffs,” said May. “We have to keepon winning.”

May has two sisters and two brothers. His twin sister, Shavell;also is a senior at Enterprise.

“My dad, Greg Moore, played football at Lawrence County,” saidMay. His mother, Sheila May, played basketball at Enterprise.

Looking to the future, May said he wants to continue playingfootball. “I want to play ball in college,” said May. “Any schoolwill do.”
