Dr. William Brooks Holliday

Services for Dr. William Brooks Holliday, of Brookhaven, are 11a.m. Thursday, Oct. 27 at Faith Presbyterian Church. Gravesideservices will be held at 2:30 p.m. at McNair Cemetery in Mt.Olive.

Visitation is Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Riverwood FamilyFuneral Service.

Dr. Holliday, 72, died Oct. 23, 2005, at King’s DaughtersMedical Center. He was born on May 19, 1933, to William D. Hollidayand Martha Eloise Brooks.

He was a retired physician. He also retired from the Air Force.He was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church, the AOA Medical HonorSociety, Sons Of the Confederate Veterans and Sons of the AmericanRevolution.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Shirley Chain Holliday; threesisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces andnephews.

Memorials may be made to Faith Presbyterian Church, Brookhaven,or to French Camp Academy, One Fine Place, French Camp MS39745.

Velma Hilburn Moak

Services for Velma Hilburn Moak, of Chalmette, La., are 11 a.m.Thursday, Oct. 27 at Catchings Funeral Home with burial in Mt.Pleasant Cemetery.

Visitation is Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9 to11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Moak, 81, died Oct. 24, 2005, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter.

Helen Mason Smith

Services for Helen Mason Smith, of the McBride-Jeffersoncommunity, are 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26 at Old McBride MethodistChurch with burial in McBride Cemetery. Saulters-Moore Funeral Homeis in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Wednesday from noon until 2 p.m. at thechurch.

Mrs. Smith, 84, died October 23, 2005, in Prentiss.

She was a native of Pattison, the daughter of Thomas L. and NinaParker Mason. She was the owner and operator of Smith Grocery inMcBride for many years. She was a member of Red Star Ward Church ofJesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, the Order of the Eastern Starand secretary-treasurer of McBride Cemetery Association for manyyears.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, RobertSmith; one daughter, Charlotte Mickell; and two granddaughters.

Survivors are her two sons, Robert Smith, of Pineville, La., andSherrod Lee Smith, of Walker, La.; her brother, Clythus Mason, ofVicksburg; 25 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and twogreat-great-grandchildren.
