Services for Velma Hilburn Moak, of Chalmette, La., are 11 a.m.Thursday, Oct. 27 at Catchings Funeral Home with burial in Mt.Pleasant Cemetery in Norfield.

Visitation is today from 5 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9 to 11a.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Moak, 81, died Oct. 24, 2005, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. She was born in Line Creek, La., on March 27, 1924 to JamesArthur Hilburn and Annie Belle Travis Hilburn.

She was a restaurant manager.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, JamesJudson Moak; and numerous brothers and sisters.

Survivors are her two sons, Jerry Lynn Harris, of Ellisville,and Ronald Gilbert Moak, of Chalmette; one daughter, Deborah A.Moak, of Chalmette; one brother, Herbert Hilburn, of Chalmette; onesister, Jean Flores, of New Orleans; and numerous nieces, nephewsand other family members and friends.
