Jewel L. Davis

Services for Jewel L. Davis, of Brookhaven, are 10 a.m. Friday,Oct. 28 at Community Funeral Service Chapel with burial inRiverwood Memorial Park.

Visitation is today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Davis, 57, died Oct. 24, 2005. He was born on July 25, 1948,to Jessie James Davis and Ruth Gill David.

He was a night watchman for Auburn Sportswear. He was a memberof the Baptist faith.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Berniece Davis, of Brookhaven; hisdaughter, Christy Smith, of Wesson; his son, James Daniel Davis, ofBrookhaven; his sisters, Helen Brown, of Bogue Chitto, Jessie MayDavis, of Columbia, and Kathy Wallace, of Bogue Chitto; hisbrothers, Jim Davis, of Ocean Springs, Dewitt Davis, of Columbia,Jerry Lamon Davis, of Brookhaven, and Dickey Davis, of Ruth; andtwo grandchildren.

Mattie Jordan Sanders

Services for Mattie Jordan Sanders, of Wesson, are 11 a.m.Saturday, Oct. 29 at New St. John M.B. Church in Wesson with burialin Little Rock M.B. Church Cemetery in Wesson.

Visitation is Friday from 1 to 7 p.m. with family hour from 6 to7 p.m. at Williams Mortuary.

Mrs. Sanders, 84, died Oct. 23, 2005, at her residence. She wasborn in Lincoln County on Jan. 21, 1921, to Andrew Jordan and DellaJordan.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of New St. John M.B.Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, HenrySanders; her son, Henry Lee Sanders; her grandchildren, AntonioSanders, Denelle Sanders and Johnny Sanders Jr.; her brothers,Andrew Jordon Jr., John Henry Jordan, Melvin Jordan, and HaroldJordan; and her sisters, Fannie McCurley, Mildred Johnson, AliceColeman, Viola Floyd and Thelma Taylor.

Survivors are her nine daughters, Betty Robinson and herhusband, Frank, Doll Hooks and her husband, Willie, Mary Long,Gloria Williams, Bessie Sanders, Thelma Weathersby and her husband,Charles, Della Hooks and her husband, Ollis, Ethel Sanders andFannie Sanders, all of Wesson; her three sons, Robert E. SandersSr. and his wife, Louella, Johnny Sanders Sr. and his wife, Dianne,and Melvin Sanders Sr., all of Wesson; 56 grandchildren; 45great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins andfriends.

Johnnie Standingwater

Services for Johnnie Standingwater, of Jayess, were 11 a.m.today, Oct. 27 at Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello with burial inLittle Rock Cemetery in Locust Grove, Okla.

Mr. Standingwater, 92, died Oct. 25, 2005, at his residence. Hewas born on Aug. 24, 1913, to Dave Standingwater and MaggieWhitekiller Standingwater.

He was a retired supervisor with Hunt’s Food, Ca. He was amember of Powells Grove Pentecostal Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers; onesister; and two sons, Robbie Boutwell and Danny Boutwell.

Survivors are his wife, Frankie Standingwater, of Jayess; hisdaughters, Diane Calcote, Linda Harper and Brenda Boutwell, all ofJayess; his sons, Clifton Boutwell, of Vancleave, Edward Boutwell,Terry Boutwell, Jerry Boutwell, all of Monticello, and RonnieBoutwell, of Fullerton, Calif.; and numerous grandchildren,great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
