Co-Lin also lost cat-quick guards Brandon Caston and DexterMiddleton of Brookhaven. Caston is at Tougaloo College thisseason.

A shooting standout returning for the Wolves is guard JoeHoliday who averaged 14 points per game. The Baton Rouge productearned All-Region honors and is an accurate 3-point shooter, making45 percent beyond the arc.

Sims said Holiday will have to work harder this season tomaintain his average because of graduation losses. Six veteransreturn limited playing experience.

More experience will come from forwards 6-5 Arvel Keys and 6-6Tremaine Enoch of Mendenhall started the first 8-10 games. Keysfinished the season strong. and Enoch (5.8 rebounds) was the team’stop rebounder.

Lamar Hall (2.5 ppg,), a 6-6 post from Brookhaven, played wellin the state and regional tournaments last season when the Wolvesfinished 21-9. Jermaine Culver of Brookhaven returns at guard.

Ivory Dishmon (5.6 ppg), a 5-8 guard from Clinton, saw plenty ofaction at point guard last year. He averaged 3.9 assists pergame.

Sophomore transfers are Geric Anderson of Raymond and TroyTurner of Baton Rouge. Anderson (Itawamba) and Turner (WesternWyoming) sat out last year.

The other transfer is Derrick Richardson of Baton Rouge. He andTurner played together at Capital High School.

Sims is encouraged by the talent level of his incoming freshmen. They are Darrell Johnson and Joey Jackson of Mendenhall, JemarioMartin from Crystal Springs, Christian Marshall and Dexter Brunsonof Wingfield, and Zach Thomas. of Meadville.

“Overall, we are more athletic,” said Sims. “Some of ouropponents have more athleticism.”

Sims said the Wolves will have more depth and more physicalstrength. He is mainly concerned about guard play. “We are not asstrong on the perimeter.

“At the best, we are a poor defending team,” added Sims. “We hadsome guys last year who refused to lose. They did whatever it tookto win.”

Marshall, a 6-10 post player from Jackson Wingfield, gives theWolfpack strength inside. However, Marshall sustained a torn kneecartilage during practice two weeks ago and will be rehabbing theinjury until January.

“Christian should be back in January if everything goesaccording to plan,” said Sims.
