Brookhaven Water Department Superintendent Lanny Dickey said apaperwork mistake resulted in the city not submitting the requirednumber of samples to be tested for water quality in August.

Letters were recently sent to city water customers notifyingthem of the violation. Dickey stressed there is nothing wrong withthe city water.

The violation resulted because the city submitted only nine of10 required samples. Dickey said the state Health Departmentrejected one of the samples because the time field on a submissionform was not filled in.
