McComb wins; Hinds AHS sweeps BC

McComb and Hinds AHS swept their respective second-roundmatchups in the Brookhaven Invitational Tournament Wednesday nightin Sinclair Gymnasium.

In girls action, the Hinds AHS Lady Bulldogs defeated the BogueChitto Lady ‘Cats 65-24 and the McComb Lady Tigers beat theWilkinson County Lady Wildcats 39-31. The Lady ‘Cats play WilkinsonSaturday at 1:30 p.m. in a consolation game.

The Hinds AHS boys jetted past Bogue Chitto 65-40 while theMcComb Tigers doubled the Wilkinson County Wildcats 82-41. BogueChitto plays Wilkinson Saturday at 12:15 in a consolation game.

In today’s semifinals games, McComb tangles with Hinds AHS at 4p.m. in girls action and 5:15 in boys action. At 6:30 and 7:45, theBrookhaven Panthers meet the South Pike Eagles in girls and boysplay respectively.

Hinds AHS 65, Bogue Chitto 24

The Lady Bulldogs got a game-high 12 points from Sondra Moncure,with Jerrica Thomas chipping in 11 for head coach Bruce Baker.

Bogue Chitto head coach Christi Terrell’s Lady Bobcats were ledby Meleah Brown with 10 points.

Hinds AHS 65, Bogue Chitto 40

The Bobcats were led by Dontae Ratcliff with 14 points for headcoach Andrew Smithie.

The Bulldogs got a game-high 19 points from Joseph White,followed by Keith Williams with 11.

McComb 39, Wilkinson County 31

The Lady Tigers, coached by Angela Johnson, were led by AlishaRayburn’s 11 points.

The Lady Wildcats got 10 points apiece from Kimberly Griffin andToni Anthony.

McComb 82, Wilkinson County 41

Coach Hilton Harrell’s Tigers got a game-high 20 points fromChris Anazia. Defreddrick White had 17 points, followed by OtisSmith with 14 and Dominique Thompson with 11.

The Wildcats got 19 points from Lawrence Cage. Gary James pumpedin 12 points.
