Lots of entries pay off in Hometown Bucks win

Registering several times at participating merchants helped ErinLyons design a win in The DAILY LEADER’s annual Hometown Christmaspromotion.

The 22-year-old Brookhaven woman was chosen as the promotion’ssecond winner of $100 in hometown bucks.

“I was excited,” Lyons said of her reaction to winning. “I wassurprised. I didn’t think I’d win.”

During a recent shopping trip with her mother, Rhonda, Lyonssaid she registered every time they stopped a participatingmerchant’s business.

“It was a busy day,” Lyons said.

It was the entry made at Sisters By Design that provedvictorious for Lyons. She said she plans to use her winnings to getChristmas gifts for friends and family.

In addition to Sisters By Design, merchants participating inthis year’s promotion include:

* T.H. Perkins Furniture Co.

* Cellular South

* Repetitions

* Country Fisherman

* Trustmark National Bank

* Bank of Brookhaven

* State Bank and Trust Co.

Forms and boxes have been placed at each merchant location forshoppers to submit entries. Residents may register at the banks butmay not spend their winnings there.

Every week during the contest, one name is drawn from eachparticipating merchant. From those, one name is drawn for theweekly $100 prize.

All entries are saved and at the end of the contest on Dec. 16,the $500 grand prize winner is drawn.

DAILY LEADER employees and their families are not eligible towin. Employees of participating merchants may not register at theirrespective business, but they may register at any of the otherparticipating merchants.
