Burk Wilson

Services for Burk Wilson, of Jackson, are 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 9at the High Street Chapel of Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home inJackson. Burial will follow the service at 1 p.m. in the AdamsUnited Methodist Church Cemetery in Auburn.

Visitation is today from 5 to 7 p.m. and after 10 a.m. Friday atthe funeral home.

Mr. Wilson, 99, died Dec. 6, 2005, at the Mississippi BaptistMedical Center in Jackson. He was born in Auburn on Nov. 27,1906.

He retired from Illinois Central Railroad in 1971 after 46 yearsservice. After retirement, he was an avid gardener and shared hisvegetables with all of his friends. He was the oldest living memberof Woodland Hills Baptist Church. He had been a member since1945.

Preceding him in death were his two brothers, Dan Wilson andMack Wilson.

Survivors are his wife of 70 years, Jimmie Clark Wilson, ofJackson; his son, J.J. Wilson and his wife, Vicki, of Madison; hisgrandchildren, Jeff Wilson, of Brandon, Lori and her husband, MikeKincess, of Jackson, and Jenifer Richards, of Ridgeland; fivegreat-grandchildren; his brothers, J.B. Wilson, of Tylertown, andAlec Wilson, of Houston, Texas.

Memorials may be made to Woodland Hills Baptist Church.

The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses andstaff of the Lakeland Health Care Center.
