Services for Gladys Christine Farmer Rushing, of Brookhaven, are2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10 at Brookhaven Funeral Home with burial inEasthaven Cemetery. Bro. Bendon Ginn will officiate services.

Visitation is today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Rushing, 97, died Dec. 8, 2005, at Beverly Health Care. Shewas born in Lincoln County on Sept. 12, 1908, to Henry Farmer andMattie Watson Farmer.

She was a seamstress for 36 years at Stahl Urban ManufacturingCo. She was a member of Easthaven Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Hollis D.Rushing; her son and daughter-in-law, James and Mary Lou Rushing;two daughters, Earline Rushing and Mary Lane Reed; twogranddaughters, Cindy Lou Reed and Beverly Williams; five brothers;and five sisters.

Survivors are her son Hollis B. Rushing and his wife, Helen, ofBaton Rouge, La.; her sister, Louise Hutcherson, of Brookhaven; her10 grandchildren, Theresia Smith, Shelia Day, Jimmy Lou Allen,Jennifer Brookins, Paula Young, Rhonda Lyons, Mike Reed, SteveRushing, Jeff Rushing and Brett Rushing; her 17great-grandchildren, Mike Smith, Ryan Day, Cory Day, Donna Prisock,Kayla Allen, Clay Brookins, Kristen Brookins, Stanley Williams,Brian Steven Williams, Natalee Barbier, Dustin Young, Erin Lyons,Garrett Lyons, Dori Reed, Jessie Reed, Chris Rushing and BenjaminRushing.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Rushing, Steve Rushing, Brett Rushing,Mike Reed, Calvin Lyons and Mike Smith.
