BA girls split weekend action

CLINTON, La. — Sophomore guard Betsy Lynch fired in a game-high32 points Saturday to lead the Brookhaven Academy Lady Cougars to a61-44 District 4-AA win over the Silliman Institute Lady Wildcats.Lynch also grabbed 4 rebounds, made 3 steals and had 4 assists.
In the Friday’s game, Natchez Trinity knocked off Brookhaven46-32, led by Mallory Archer’s 15 points.
Oak Forest invades Brookhaven Academy Tuesday night for districtaction.
Brookhaven 61, Silliman 44
With the win, Coach Barry Gray’s Lady Cougars improved to 16-8on the season and 5-2 in district play.
Contributing to the Brookhaven win with 11 points, including 3treys, was Maddie Allen. Kelli Snider pulled down 6 reboundsfollowed by Kellie Brady with 4 rebounds.
Cameron Kline and Mary Kennedy netted 9 points apiece forSilliman.
Natchez Trinity 42, Brookhaven 32
In the Friday loss, Drew Holland Tigner and Lynch led the LadyCougars with 12 points apiece. Tigner also grabbed 6 rebounds andmade 4 steals. Brady pulled down 4 rebounds.
Mallory Archer netted 15 points for Trinity.
At halftime, Trinity held a slim 21-20 lead over Brookhaven. Inthe second half, Trinity outscored Brookhaven 30-12 for thewin.
Junior high action
Silliman’s girls knocked off Brookhaven 34-22 Saturdayafternoon. Nicole Smith paced the Lady Cougars (13-2, 6-1) with 10points.
Camille Brian had 13 points for the Lady Wildcats.
In Friday’s game, Brookhaven whipped Trinity 37-19.
Leading Brookhaven with 8 points, 7 rebounds and 10 steals wasSmith. Kristin Kimble also netted 8 points. Hannah Hickman followedwith 7 points.
