Services for Velma Allene Clagg, of Brookhaven, are 10 a.m.Monday, Jan. 9 at Garner-Harper Funeral Home in Grenada, withburial in Salem Methodist Cemetry in Chester.

Mrs. Clagg, 81, died Jan. 6, 2006, at Silver Cross Nursing Homein Brookhaven. She was born on Dec. 2, 1924, to William ClydeMcWhorter Sr. and Russell H. McWhorter.

She was a member of 4H and the Homemakers and Community Club.She was a member of Gore Springs Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, DennyClagg; her brothers, William Clyde McWhorter Jr. and William EarlMcWhorter; and her sister Mildred McWhorter Ray.

Survivors are her brother, James E. McWhorter, of Olympia,Wash.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
