Betty Lofton Moore, 77, of Smithdale, died Jan. 21, 2005, at herson’s home in Bude.

Visitation is 5 to 10 p.m. Tuesday at Hartman Funeral Home ofMcComb, and 11 a.m. Wednesday until services there at 1 p.m. TheRev. Wes Arnold, son-in-law; the Rev. Jonathan Arnold, grandson;and the Rev. Stephanie Arnold, granddaughter, will officiate.Burial will be in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery in FranklinCounty.

Mrs. Moore was born Aug. 15, 1928, in Bogue Chitto to Sam andAddie Lofton.

As an Army wife, she taught for 31 years in numerous placesincluding Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, Georgia, Oklahoma, Germanyand American Samoa.

She was a lifelong active member of local churches and women’sMission Union and Training Union, Vacation Bible school and Sundayschool, was also a missionary to Romania, Jamaica, American Samoa,Ukraine, Choctaw Reservation and East St. Louis. She was a lifelongsports enthusiast herself with her children and grandchildren.

Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her parents and one sister,Montie R. Lofton.

Survivors include her husband, Clinton Myron Moore, ofSmithdale; two sons and one daughter-in-law, C. Myron Moore Jr., ofMissoula, Mont., and Charles S. Moore and Joy, of Bude; twodaughters and sons-in-law, Deborah L. Arnold and Wes, of Benton,La., and Rebekah M. O’Banion and David, of Baytown, Texas; onebrother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Glenda Lofton, of Baton Rouge;seven grandchildren, Stephanie Arnold, Patricia Hill and herhusband, Greg, Jonathan Arnold and his wife, Lindsay, LindseyMoore, Sam Moore, Joshua O’Banion and Jacob Moore; threegreat-grandsons, Caleb Hill, Andrew Hill and Nathaniel Arnold; andnumerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers will be her seven grandchildren. In lieu of flowers,donations may be made to Southern Baptist Convention InternationalMission Board, P.O.
