Charles Monroe ‘Spud’ Leggett

Services for Charles Monroe “Spud” Leggett of Summit, are 10a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28 at Jones Family Funeral Services Chapel withburial in Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in Bogue Chitto.

Visitation is today from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m.until 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Leggett, 61, died Jan. 26, 2006, at Southwest MississippiRegional Medical Center in McComb. He was born in Lincoln County onJune 8, 1944, to James Cleon Leggett Sr. and Minnie F. Leggett.

He was a retired conductor for the Illinois Gulf Railroad. Heattended Bogue Chitto High School. Buying and restoring antiquecars was his favorite pastime. He also loved spending time with hisgrandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, JamesCleon Leggett Jr.

Survivors are his wife, Lynda Gay Leggett, of Summit; his sons,Charles Corey Leggett and Donald Glenn Leggett, both of McComb; hisdaughters, Lisa Ann “Sissy” Wallace, of Summit, and Shannai LeighBarclay, of McComb; his sister-in-law, Shirley Leggett, of McComb;his sister, Pat Killingsworth and his brother-in-law, BillKillingsworth, of Summit; a friend of the family, Tammy Wroten, ofSummit; and 10 grandchildren, Lacy O’Quin, Jacy Wallace, JoeyLeggett, Jamie Leggett, Kaitlyn Leggett, Taylor Leggett, JordanShaw, Jessie Shaw, Kaleb Barclay and Kaylee Barclay.

Pallbearers will be Jim Lenoir, Versie L. Hall Jr., Ray Hall,David Nichols, Sonny McCoy, Ernest L. Coon and Tommy “T.K.”Killingsworth.
