Callie Rosa Lea

Services for Callie Rosa Lea, of Gloster, are 2 p.m. Friday,Feb. 17 at Shiloh Baptist Church in Sontag with burial in thechurch cemetery. The Rev. Larry Romack, the Rev. Richard Green andthe Rev. Jackie Cooke will officiate services.

Visitation is today from 6 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home inGloster and Friday from noon until 2 p.m. at the church.

Miss Lea, 4, died Feb. 14, 2006, on Mississippi Highway 567north of Liberty. She was born in Brookhaven on June 19, 2001, toJason Curtis Lea, of Sontag, and Jessica R. Lea, of Gloster.

She was a four-year-old kindergarten student at Amite SchoolCenter in Liberty. She attended the Shiloh Baptist Church inSontag.

Preceding her in death were her great-grandparents, Curtis Lea,Helen Thompson, Raymond and Jon Earle Towles, Mann Dawson and SarahRoberts; and one aunt, Kristie Lea.

Survivors are her parents; her grandparents, Ronnie and JudyLea, of Sontag, Ray and Patsy Towles, of Gloster, and Vic andBrenda Smith, of Gulfport; her great-grandparents, Ruby Lea, ofSontag, Sidney Thompson, of Meadville, and Mavis Dawson, ofGloster; her aunts, Ginny Dixon and her husband, David, of Sontag,Brandi Wilson, and her husband, Calleb, of Monticello; her uncle,Kyle Towles, of Gloster, and John Towles and his wife, Jackie, ofGloster; and six cousins, Anna Brister, of Sontag, Taylor andKarlea Grace Dixon, of Sontag, Hunter Wilson, of Monticello, TylerTowles, of Gloster, and Doyle Havard, of Amite.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Bozeman, David Dixon, Gordon Cliburn,Carey Douglas, Calleb Wilson and Evan Wells.

Charlie McManus

Services for Charlie McManus, of Terry, are 11 a.m. Friday, Feb.17 at Stringer Family Funeral Services Chapel in Crystal Springswith burial in the Terry Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. McManus, 90, died Feb. 15, 2006, in Brookhaven. He was bornon June 20, 1915.

He was a resident of the Wynndale community in Terry for 66years.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife; and twograndsons.

Survivors are his daughter, Mary Kate “Katie” Reid and herhusband, the Rev. Wiley Reid; a son, James “Buddy” McManus and hiswife, Bettye McManus; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren;and four great-great-grandchildren.

Mary Kathryn Newell

Services for Mary Kathryn Newell, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.Friday, Feb. 17 at Brookhaven Funeral Home with burial in NewellCemetery in Lincoln County.

Visitation is today from 5 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m.until 2 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home.

Mrs. Newell, 85, died Feb. 15, 2006, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. She was born on Feb. 26, 1920, to Jo Benton Stegall andBeulah McBride Stegall.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of New Hope MethodistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, JohnEldon Newell.

Survivors are her sons, Johnny Newell and Stephen Newell, bothof Brookhaven, her daughter, Kathy Cade, of Brookhaven; sixgrandchildren, Tony Cade, Bradly Cade, Chad Cade, Crystal Bowman,Michelle Case and Allison Francis; 10 great-grandchildren; and aspecial friend, Linda Tucker.
