The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department made two majordevelopments recently with arrests in two convenience storeburglaries.

Case’s Grocery, located on California Road was burglarized inJanuary, said Lincoln County Sheriff Wiley Calcote.

Robert Case, owner of the store, said someone broke into hisstore and took cigarettes. Before the robbers left, they vandalizedthe store by breaking windows and the glass fronts of the gasolinepumps, Calcote said.

On Feb. 16, three juveniles were arrested and charged withburglary of a commercial building, the sheriff said.

The three youths, ranging in age 14 to 16 years old, confessedto breaking into the store during an interview with Lincoln CountySheriff’s Department Investigator Johnny Hall, Calclote said. Theyouths will face charges in youth court.

In another case, Crossroads Grocery on Highway 550 in the LoydStar community was burglarized the morning of Feb. 11, Calcotesaid. Shirley Smith, owner of the store, said several packs ofcigarettes, cigars and an assortment of candy were taken from thestore.

On Feb. 15 the Sheriff’s Department received a tip on thepossible identities of the people responsible for the break-in.

Hall located and questioned Anthony Duschene, 19, of 720 AnnSt.

Duschene confessed to breaking into the store along with anotherperson. Items taken from the convenience store were found in aduffle bag at Duschene’s residence, Calcote added.

On Feb. 16, Randall T. Ball, 18, of 2709 New Sight Drive,surrendered at the Sheriff’s Department and confessed to the crime,Calcote said.

Both men were charged with burglary of a commercial building,said Calcote.
