Services for Carey C. Jones, of Jayess, were Sunday, Feb. 26 atLive Oak Methodist Church in Watson, La., with burial in AmiteBaptist Church Cemetery in Denham Springs, La. Riverwood FamilyFuneral Service was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Jones, 84, died Feb. 24, 2006, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born on Sept. 30, 1921, to Dr. Henry Clinton Jonesand Carrie Underwood Jones.

He earned a master’s degree and was a psychologist. He was amember of Amite Baptist Church in Denham Springs. He served hiscountry in the Navy during World War II.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his brothers, WilliamLee Jones, John Paul Jones, Albert Sidney Jones, Murray Jones,Collins Jones and Lloyd Jones; and his sisters, Chesley Noble,Tirzah Cook and Elizabeth Nettles.

Survivors are his wife, Avy Ott Jones; his sons, James ClintonJones, of Carmel, Calif., Carey T. Jones, of Baton Rouge, La., andMark Stephen Davis, of Jayess; his brother, Amos Ponder Jones, ofWatson, La.; his sister, Virginia Dare Chavers, of Walker, La.; andhis five grandchildren.
