Services for Lottie Bee Hart Smith, of Bogue Chitto, are 2 p.m.Tuesday, Feb. 28 at Calvary Baptist Church in Bogue Chitto withburial in the church cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in chargeof arrangements.

Visitation is today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith, 84, died Feb. 26, 2006 at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. She was born on March 24, 1921, to Harrison Hart and ClaraWallace Hart.

She was a homemaker and pastor’s wife for 50 years. She servedin several positions in the church, and served on the localassociational and state board of the Woman’s Missionary Union forseveral years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She loved working with her hands and quilting was her specialty.Her grandchildren referred to her as a “walking Bible.”

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, the Rev.G.W. Smith; five brothers, Herman Hart, Hoyte Hart, Harley Hart,Wallace Hart and Hugh Hart; two sisters, Rosa Lee Hart Wallace andElsie Hart Nettles.

Survivors are her son, Greg Smith, of Bogue Chitto; herdaughter, Janell White and husband Kenny, of Sumrall; her sisters,Jennie Ford, of McComb and Peggy Gardner, of Oklahoma City, Okla.;her grandchildren, Kenyon Greer, Bradley White, Susan Dobson,Shannon Nunnery and Kriston Fortenberry; seven great-grandchildren;and a host of nieces and nephews.
