Jonas Bates

Services for Jonas Bates, of Picayune, are 1 p.m. Saturday,March 4 at Pilgrim Bounds Baptist Church with burial in thePicayune Cemetery. Baylous Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Bates, 73, died Feb. 24, 2006.

He was owner and operator of Jonas Concrete Company. He was amember and deacon of Pilgrim Bounds Baptist Church, where he servedon the Pastor’s Aide Committee, past president of the deacons’board. He was a member of the Square Deal Lodge #562 B. He was acity councilman for eight years and on the Personnel Committee.

Survivors are his wife, Palmer Bates, of Picayune; his sons,John Bates, of Jackson, Mac Bell Sr., Charles Bates Jr., CharlesBates Sr., Jonas Bates, Carlos Bogan and Donald Ray Hart, all ofPicayune; his daughters, Jacqulyn McDonald, Peggy Magee and AnnetteDavis, all of Picayune, Teresa Hart, of Toledo, Ohio, Venus Jonesand Marilyn Sue Moore, both of Jackson, Beverly McGilbery, of St.Louis, Mo.; his brothers, Leroy Bates, of Brookhaven, Eugene Bates,of Jackson; his sisters, Joanna Robinson, of Greenwood, GraceBlackwell, Daisy Fairman and Gladys Calhoun, all of Bogue Chitto,and Diane Buie, of Jackson; 45 grandchildren and 33great-grandchildren.

Ida Mae Boyd Duncan

Services for Ida Mae Boyd Duncan, of Ruth, are 3 p.m. Thursday,March 2, at Shady Grove Baptist Church with burial in RuthCemetery. Catchings Funeral Home in McComb is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Thursday from 1 p.m. until time of thefuneral.

Mrs. Duncan, 86, died Feb. 28, 2006 at Mississippi Care Centerof Morton. She was born in Lincoln County on May 11, 1919, toLuther Boyd and Rosa Boyd.

She was a retired bookkeeper of Kellwood Company. She was alongtime and very active member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Jack M.Duncan, and her sister, Bernice Burns.

Survivors are numerous nieces and nephews and many friends,including her church family.

Memorials may be sent to Shady Grove Baptist Church, 4056 ShadyGrove Dr., SE, Bogue Chitto, MS 39629.

Barbara Jean Hall

Services for Barbara Jean Hall, of Wesson, are 4 p.m. today,March 1, at New Providence Baptist Church in Pleasant Hill withburial in the church cemetery. Community Funeral Services is incharge of arrangements.

Visitation is today from 1 to 4 p.m. at the church.

Mrs. Hall, 54, died Feb. 26, 2006 at her residence. She was bornon March 31, 1951, to Jimmie Dixon and Audrey Teasley Dixon.

Preceding her in death was her father.

Survivors are her husband, Jerry W. Hall, of Wesson; herdaughter, Lindsey Hall, of Indiana; her brother, George Letchworth,of Hazlehurst; her sister, Ann Burns, of Wesson; and several niecesand nephews.

Ray W. Lambert Jr.

Services for Ray W. Lambert Jr., of Monticello are 2 p.m.Thursday, March 2 at Brookhaven Funeral Home with burial in NewZion Baptist Church Cemetery in Monticello.

Visitation is today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Lambert, 49, died Feb. 27, 2006 at University MedicalCenter. He was a lifelong resident of Monticello, born to RayWilliam Lambert Sr. and Rita Miller Lambert.

He was a retired sales representative. He was a member of FirstAssembly of God in Brookhaven.

Preceding him in death was his father.

Survivors are his mother; his wife, Vicki Lambert, ofMonticello, his daughters, Jennifer Renee Keys, of Monticello, andKimberly Parks, of Newport, Ky.; his brothers, Carl Lambert andGary Dean Lambert, both of Monticello, and Jerald Lambert, ofSontag; and his sister, Joann Lewis, of Sontag.
